Dispute Resolution
Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) is the legal term for services that help people affected by separation or divorce to sort out family disputes.

What we do
SAC’s FDR program facilitates culturally appropriate, safe and respectful conversations to assist family and kin to reduce conflicts and make decisions in the best interests of the child, where there is breakdown of relationship between carers of children and where there is conflict post-breakdown of the relationship between the carers of children.
Through proactive mediation our teams help clients agree on a range of issues including:
-
Child safety
-
Parenting plans
-
Collaborative decisions in the best interest of the child
-
Connection to and enjoyment of Country and cultural traditions.
By applying our Culturally Informed Trauma Integrated Healing Approach, we focus on early intervention to avoid ongoing conflict between parties, police and the justice system; rather, we create a culturally safe, non-judgemental space where people feel listened to, understood, and respected.
