Today marks the first day of Ochre Ribbon Week, a campaign that raises awareness of the impacts of Family and Domestic Violence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities while and honouring the strength and resilience of First Nations people across Australia.
The initiative's slogan “Don’t Silence the Violence” is a reminder that it is up to all of us to raise awareness, educate, promote safety, health, and end family and domestic violence.
Established in 2015, Ochre Ribbon Week runs from 12 February to 19 February every year.
