Rangers On Country at the Balijup Fauna Sanctuary

This week our Rangers collaborated with Green Skills Inc at the Balijup Fauna Sanctuary for a number of capacity building activities.

The Sanctuary, located in Cranbrook within the Great Southern region, is protected from feral animals to help establish a breeding population of native fauna – like the Quenda (Southern Brown Bandicoot).

Our Rangers spent two days camping at the Sanctuary surveying, setting up feral animal traps, inspecting cockatoo nesting tubes, as well as trapping and collecting information on the current state of the native fauna, including brushtail possums and bobtail goannas.

Thank you to the Green Skills team for this valuable collaboration.
