Southern Aboriginal Corporation, alongside the Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service, was proud to host a panel of elders and community members and stakeholders at the Albany Entertainment centre today.
The panel of elders, all of whom are members of the stolen generation, recounted their experiences and shared their stories with the event attendees.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. Your presence, your open hearts, and your willingness to listen created a space for truth-telling, reflection, and healing.
Today, we heard stories that were not easy to tell – stories of pain, of loss, of strength. Our Elders, who so generously shared their lived experiences with us, continue to carry the weight of a history that was forced upon them. And yet, they still speak, not for sympathy, but for truth. That is courage. That is leadership. And we thank you.

The documentary Genocide in the Wildflower State was confronting, as it should be. These are not stories of the past - they are lived experiences, and their impacts are still felt today.
National Sorry Day is not a day to tick a box. It’s a call to carry truth into our lives, homes, workplaces, and systems. Reconciliation is not a word - it’s a responsibility, and it belongs to all of us.
To our partners at the Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service - thank you for walking with us in solidarity and shared vision.
To our team at Southern Aboriginal Corporation, and everyone behind the scenes - your care and commitment made today possible.

To everyone who attended - thank you. Let’s keep this conversation going. Keep the fire burning - in your words, your actions, and your allyship.
Be safe, be kind, and walk strong.
